#007 - addicted to poison

when i come to your place again,

you crash on the sofa,

eyes glued to the phone,

searching for memories of her,

because you’re addicted to poison

and honey tastes too sweet.

my thoughts are convoluted.

my eyes glued on you,

searching for the answer

of why i am here

with red lips and damp hair

and four hours 'til two.

i look at you and know

i will never want you.

"come over if you want."

then I'm left to myself.

you're a tired body, blind mind,

broken heart, never fine.

your dog i am afraid of

greets me with a lick

you stay frozen on your back.

i forget i am your guest.

you're careless with me, forgetful and rude.

you claim it's only 'cause, she colors you blue.

of course then, this happens:

i drive home, fists clenched.

"nothing has changed,"

I scream to the moon.

with hair dried, lips purple,

and three hours 'til two.

they say you're who your friends are

and i guess it must be true.

your place is familiar, i drive like a fool.

i come 'cause like you,

and forever like you,

i'm addicted to poison, too.

- i think men and women can be friends, but he doesn't care (about me)
